A valuable resource available to street and road departments nationwide is the Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP). Since the early 1980s, federal highway legislation has called for LTAPs in every state. LTAP is tasked to help local transportation agencies with workforce development and technical assistance. APWA and its chapters have had a long relationship with LTAPs. Read on for examples of services provided to local governments and ways LTAP partners with APWA.
